Mold Maker Westminster, CO (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=1100+West+120th+Ave+Westminster+CO+USA+80234) Job TypeFull-timeDescriptionOVERVIEWCadrex is searching for a Mold Maker to repair, and modify all types, sizes and shapes of plastic injection molds, jigs, fixtures, and tooling to extremely tight tolerances and time frames. Assembles and samples complex tools and dies on manufacturing equipment. Provide tool maintenance services to production manufacturing.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Working from CAD, sketches, blueprints, verbal, or written instructions
Planning the setup and operation of Tool Room equipment. Including CNC mills, manual mills, wire and sinker EDM's, manual lathes, surface grinders and other equipment used in the production and repair of plastic injection molds
Heat treats parts as required
Determines specification for inspection of work, using precision measuring and gauging tools, performing required inspection before, during and after machining
Performs hand operations involved in producing jigs, fixtures, tools, and dies. Uses hand tools of the trade
Uses tool room equipment to include lathes, mills, edms, grinders
Fits and assembles jigs, fixtures, tools, dies. Sets up, runs off and test dies to produce a product to specifications, tracing die difficulties to their source and correcting same
Disassemble and reassemble injection molds or auxiliary equipment
Perform preventative maintenance on injection molds or auxiliary equipment
Team player within the department and ability to work with Production to establish best mold situation
May be asked to research and order replacement parts inventories for tools and equipment as needed as well as all required and appropriate paperwork
Repairing, fitting, and assembling molds, jigs, fixtures, and tooling
Team player within the department and ability to work with Production to establish best mold situation
Working safely at all time and compliant with OSHA standards
Performs other duties and assignments as directed by the Tooling Manager or Management
RequirementsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 4 years trade experience as a Mold Maker, or approved related work experience as a Mold Maker
4 years experience in Plastic Injection mold building/repair
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Working knowledge of Auto CAD, Master Cam, or Pro E
Basic computer skills and knowledge of industrial mathematics, shop theories, and mold/tool making principles
Ability to work close tolerances (+/- .0001)

High school diploma or GED
