JOB TITLE: Quality Engineer
EXEMPT: Yes
SALARY LEVEL: Based on Experience and Education
DEPARTMENT: Quality Control
SCHEDULE: 6:30 am-3 pm Mon-Fri
Summary: Reports to the Quality Manager and assists in planning, implementing, and maintaining the company’s Quality, Safety, Health, and Environmental Management systems. Responsible for completing other tasks as deemed necessary and appropriate.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Closely involved with the process of product design and development.
Help create protocols for production teams to follow that result in high-quality products.
Help implement effective quality controls, teach production staff how to use them and supervise outcomes.
Design automated testing systems and quality control workflows to improve the efficiency of the quality assurance
process.
Collect data about instances of production errors and investigate possible solutions by troubleshooting the
manufacturing or design process.
Conduct Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action for product or process nonconformities or Customer
complaints.
Skills and Qualification Requirements:
Strong knowledge of Microsoft software, quality assurance methods, tools, and quality manufacturing processes.
Strong Math skills (preferably strong Statistical knowledge).
Strong Communication skills.
Attention to detail.
Well-developed analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Strong interpersonal skills.
Education and Experience:
Associate's degree in science minimum required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
5 years minimum in a manufacturing environment (automotive preferred).
2 years minimum in a Quality Control/Assurance role (Bachelor’s or higher degree can substitute for experience).
2 Years experience in an IATF16949 certified environment preferred.
