Position Title:Security Worker - LibraryJob Posting Closing Date:05/21The Events Division of the Provo Library is looking for a highly dependable individual to fill the role of part-time Security Worker at the Provo City Library at Academy Square. Selected candidate(s) will be provided basic security training before beginning duties. Pay Rate: $12.00 per hour. (Payment will be made by direct deposit.) Essential Duties:
Maintain security in the library and on the grounds.
Monitor security cameras.
Observe and/or patrol designated areas or routes.
Write daily shift reports of activities.
Watch for and report theft, vandalism, or general impropriety.
Assist other staff members as needed and perform other related work as required.
Minimum Requirements:
Ability to read and follow directions.
Interact with the public at a level sufficient to demonstrate an ability to perform the duties of the position.
Customer service and security experience is preferred.
Hours: Approximately 15 to 20 hours per week, between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Saturdays. Actual schedule will be set by the supervisor based on department need.
Physical/Environmental Factors: This work requires physical strength and agility to perform the work; and exposure to adverse weather conditions, hazardous materials, and potentially stressful circumstances.
Pre-employment Screening: Prior to appointment, applicants will be required to successfully pass a drug scree and criminal background investigation. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screening results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of 6 months
