RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Birmingham, AL that is looking for a Senior UNIX System Administrator to join their onsite team. The Senior Unix/Linux Admin must have experience with opening support cases, for both hardware and software issues, and working with vendors to resolve issues in a timely manner. This person will troubleshoot and administer RedHat Enterprise Linux, Oracle Enterprise Linux, Solaris, AIX, and VMware vCenter.
REQUIREMENTS:
Degree in Computer Information Science (or comparable)
6-8 years of experience as a UNIX/Linux System Administrator
Experience with opening support cases, for both hardware and software issues, and working with vendors to resolve issues in a timely manner
Experience backing up and restoring both virtual machines and physical machines
Able to work flexible hours (sometimes weekends and shifts from 6 AM to Midnight during migrations or projects)
Willing to participate in an on-call rotation and when on-call, be available 24x7
Team leader experience
Orion SolarWinds experience (monitoring system)
Disaster Recovery experience
Dell/EMC Data Domain (storage)
Working in an environment of 800+ Virtual and Physical Machines
Knowledge of and experience with UNIX shell scripting and Ansible
Patching servers using Ansible and Red Hat Satellite
Experience with ServiceNow (ticketing and change management)
Experience with Veritas NetBackup
