POSITION PURPOSE:

The Registered Nurse executes comprehensive nursing care activities and provides nursing staff leadership as assigned. He/She assesses patient needs, plans, and implements patient care activities and evaluates the patients response to treatment.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Associate Degree in Nursing – BSN or Master’s Degree preferred

Experience: Two (2) years’ experience in a Wound Treatment Center. Strong team building skills

Licenses/Certificates: Current Alabama RN license. Current CPR certification

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. May be required to provide case management to a group of patients providing specific assessments according to protocols and procedures, clinical competence in procedural skills, treatments, and patient/caregiver education related to wound care management.
2. Performs HBO (Hyperbaric Oxygen) related duties as required, upon completion of the Healogics Hyerbaric training.
3. Organizes and prioritizes clinical responsibilities, provides clinical oversight to clinical staff, such as RN’s, LPN’s or LVN’s CMA’s Hyperbaric Oxygen Technicians, etc.
4. Collaborates with other health care providers, Wound Care Center Providers, Program Director, and Medical Director regarding clinical and patient needs.
5. Consistently looks at current processes and procedures, and identifies and implements areas of improvement, while complying with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the Joint Commission, the Department of Health (DOH), as well as hospital and Healogics requirements.
6. Engages in staff development, providing general in services as well as individual instruction and orientation. Provides staff recognition through positive reinforcement and constructive feedback.
7. Collaborates with Program Director in coordination of program objectives, from a budgetary and financial perspective.
8. Collaborates with Director and Medical Director to achieve Wound Care Center quality indicators.
9. May Function as a Documentation Assistant (scribe) in accordance with Healogics policy
10. May perform hyperbaric safety director duties after completing the required Healogics hyperbaric safety director training.
