T-H Marine is looking for a Purchasing Agent join our team. This position has primary responsibility for working in the Purchasing Department with vendors ordering products and materials, new product development, and overall company cost saving.ResponsibilitiesResearch, select and purchase quality products and materialsBuild relationships with suppliers and negotiate price, terms and conditions, quality, and on-time delivery.Update inventory and ensure that stock levels are kept at appropriate levelsCommunicate with Customer Service and Sales about inventory of partsArrange transport of goods and track orders to ensure timely deliveryAnalyze market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisionsAssess quality of stock received and escalate any discrepancies to suppliers and managementResearch for new vendors, new products, alternatives to current vendors and productsAssist with management of Purchasing email accountSet up new vendors, working with Accounts Payable for all needed forms or invoice quantity and price discrepancies.Keep track, order, and disperse office/cleaning suppliesRequirementsBachelor's Degree in relevant field, or 2 years experienceExcellent computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)Critical thinking and negotiation skillsStrong communication skills, both written and verbalExperience with overseas vendors and shipmentsExhibit sharp problem-solving skills.Experience with ERP systems strongly preferred.
