SAIC has an immediate need for a Senior Data Center Network Engineer to support the NASA Integrated Communications Services (NICS) contract at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL. The NICS contract provides high quality integrated communications services for secure voice, video and data solutions and services to NASA customers worldwide.
Job Responsibilities:
Job responsibilities will include design, engineering, configuration, testing, and documentation of data center network architectures in a multi-vendor environment
This includes leveraging Cisco ACI to improve security and automation of data center networks across NASA as well as designing load balancer configurations to support NASA's most critical applications
This role will also help lead the evolution of NASA's data toward a target architecture that support NASA application owners' COOP/DR requirements as well as leveraging ACI's advanced features to improve segmentation and security with DCNs
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience
4 Years of experience accepted in lieu of degree
Required Skills:
The candidate must have excellent oral and written skills and be able to present technical information in formal presentations to both internal and external customers
The candidate must have a concrete working knowledge routed data protocols and hardware platforms
Desired Skills / Experiences:
Vendor certifications such as CCNA/CCNP/CCIE are strongly preferred
Juniper QFX, hypervisors, server load balancers and familiarity with current trends in cloud computing, network automation/programmability and software defined networking in data centers are desired
