The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking an Associate Loads Analyst located in Huntsville, AL or Houston, TX.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Coordinates with other engineering groups both within Boeing and with the government customer to establish system environments.
  • Loads analyses includes simulations of both ground and flight events to which the aerospace vehicle is exposed, and the development of internal loads on secondary structures or components associated with these mission events.
  • Loads analysis includes simulations using NASTRAN of all ground and flight events to which the vehicle is exposed, and the development of internal loads on secondary structures or components associated with these flight events. Examples include liftoff, ascent (gust/buffet response), and base-drive analysis using NASTRAN, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience with Craig-Bampton (CB) reductions in aerospace applications, launch vehicle applications are a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience creating Load Transformation Matrices (LTM) for aerospace applications is a plus.
  • Responsibilities also include performance of loads and dynamics analysis to assure compliance with structural integrity and stability requirements with direction from the Technical Lead.


This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
  • 1+ years of experience using NASTRAN/PATRAN or similar FEM software to perform structural analysis on aircraft or space structures.
  • 1+ years of experience using Matlab or Simulink


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience using MATLAB for data analysis and plotting.


Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
