Job Summary of Embedded Software Test Engineer

Our client, a developer of rugged embedded computing solutions, is looking for an Embedded Software Test Engineer to join their growing team. In this position, you will be an integral part of the embedded team, doing development testing on next generation software. This position is focused on diagnostic code development for validation at the driver-level.

Responsibilities of Embedded Software Test Engineer

  • Develop and maintain automated test sequences, software, firmware, and scripts to validate our products during development through manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with product development teams to develop software, requirements, and plans.
  • Work closely with our engineering and production departments to validate solutions as they are deployed in product qualification and manufacturing environments.
  • Communicate status to key stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
  • Produce internal documentation for assigned tasks consistent with engineering processes and procedures.


Qualifications of Embedded Software Test Engineer

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other relevant fields
  • 5+ years of experience in embedded software development/testing using Python and C/C
  • Experience writing test software at hardware/driver level.
  • Experience with Linux drivers is a strong plus.
  • Working knowledge of peripheral interfaces and protocols such as PCI/PCIe, USB, SATA, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, and Video (DVI, VGA, Display-Port, etc.).
  • An awareness of NI tools LabVIEW and TestStand is a plus.


Compensation of Embedded Software Test Engineer

Salary Range: $90,000-110,000/year (plus bonus and benefits), based on qualifications and experience
