About the role
This role will provide leadership and direction to a regional engineering team responsible for capacity planning, project identification & development, project management, process optimization, equipment maintenance & reliability, facilities management, and sustainability initiatives across multiple sites and various technologies.
The successful candidate will collaborate with the business leadership team to assure an aligned engineering and maintenance team to the Food End Use Markets goals and objectives.
Key responsibilities
• You will help lead a regional engineering organization that develops capital plans, improves processes, reduces equipment downtime, and maintains facilities & infrastructure. Using continuous improvement tools, leads projects to improve equipment cleanliness, debottleneck processes, improve throughput, reduce waste, and decrease costs.
• You will assure compliance with Kerry's design standards. Leads design groups to assure compliance with safety, quality, and sanitary design standards. Advises and recommends improvements in the area of operational safety for a project. Responsible for ensuring and promoting operational safety, environmental protection and employee health/industrial hygiene within a project. Supports completion of hazard analysis studies (PHA's/HAZOP's) for existing and new processes.
• Assist with development of capacity versus demand models for all processing lines and identifies bottlenecks using overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) models and equipment usage data.
• Guide and develop careers for engineering team members.
• Create annual and long range capital plans for the End Use Market.
• You will be responsible for the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) that detail operations of new equipment or revises SOP's to reflect changes to operations as a result of modifications to existing equipment.
• Assure the commissioning of equipment using installation and operational qualifications (IQ/OQ) protocols. Completion of IQ/OQ protocols and support training for personnel.
Qualifications and skills
• Minimum BS in Mechanical/Chemical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent with at least 10 years of engineering experience in the food or pharmaceutical industry.
• Must have experience in project, process, and process control systems. Well versed in the development of capacity plans, capital projects, OEE development, project schedules, cost estimates, PFD's, P&ID's, site and elevation drawings, and utility management.
• Estimated Travel at 30%- 40% within North America.
