Currently, we are looking for a Full Stack Developer to join our Client’s team in supporting a quickly growing federal team. This Senior Developer will support the design and development activities of a software modernization effort. The candidate will be responsible designing, building and ultimately delivering solutions architected to run in an AWS environment. This project uses Agile methodologies and DevSecOps practices to ensure consistent, secure and timely delivery of capability and the candidate should be prepared to operate in such an environment. The work is remote in the Montgomery, AL area and requires an Active Secret Clearance.
Core responsibilities will include:

• Develop relationships across multiple groups
• Contribute to customer satisfaction through quality code and on-time delivery
• Support and promote test-driven development (TDD)
• Continuously focus on and develop professional skills
• Pursue training/tools to fill needs
• Translate application storyboards and use cases into functional applications
• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
• Apply industry best practices and techniques to design, develop, test, deploy, support, and maintain complex Java applications based on business requirements using approved technologies and coding standards.
• Assist in project planning and architectural design reviews. Helping to plan for future system design and development updates.
• Mentor and guide development team with any programming issues, ensuring collaboration, troubleshooting, and path to resolution.
• Communicate with team, customer, and stakeholders in a clear, concise, timely, and professional manner.
• Support documentation needs such as SLA’s, Software Design documents, SOP’s, etc.

Overall Required Experience:

• 8 – 10+ years of experience
• Experience designing and developing Java web-based applications
• Experience working with relational databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL
• Experience with modern Java frameworks such as Spring
• Experience in an Agile environment
• Experience working with Agile tools (i.e. Jira, Confluence)
• Experience working with Docker
• Experience with a modern client framework such as React, Angular, Vue, etc.
• Experience working with AWS and developing Infrastructure as Code
• Knowledge of HTML & CSS
• Experience with Jenkins and DevSecOps practices
• Familiarity with Federal cybersecurity compliance work
• Very good verbal and written communication skills

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Information Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Technology Management, or a degree in a closely related field
Certification Requirements: Security + (can be completed after joining the team)
Citizen/Clearance Requirements: US Citizen with an Active Secret Clearance
Preferred Experience:

• Experience with DoD, DHA, VA, Air Force preferred
• Active Duty, Reserve or Guard experience, US Military
