Boeing is seeking a Senior Systems Safety Engineer (Level 6) to supportprograms and projects across the Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) portfolio.

BDS is one of the world's largest defense, space and security businesses specializing in innovative and capabilities-driven customer solutions, and the world's largest and most versatile producer of a wide array of military and commercial products ranging from manned and unmanned air, ground, space and underwater vehicles, missiles, and weapons.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Consultant to System Safety programs across BDS, including program organization and execution, and conduct of safety analyses and safety investigations.
• Voting member for flight test mission assurance readiness reviews, and contributor to independent technical reviews and safety review boards.
• Lead and support the development and maintenance of System Safety resources such as training, processes and tools.
• Provide safety leadership and expertise to technical boards and technical councils.
• Representative and contributor to government and industry safety working groups and committees.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry; Twelve (12) years of directly related Systems Safety experience is acceptable in lieu of a degree.
• Ten (10) or more years of experience with systems safety within the aerospace and/or defense industry.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Fifteen (15) or more years of experience with systems safety within the aerospace and/or defense industry.
• Experience performing a variety of hazard analyses across the full product life cycle. Examples include: Subsystem Hazard Analysis (SSHA), System Hazard Analysis (SHA), Operating and Support Hazard Analysis (O&SHA), Occupational Health Hazard Assessment (OHHA), Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA), and Software Safety Hazard Analysis, and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
• Experience working directly with customers and regulatory agencies (e.g., DOD, NASA, FAA, DCMA or Range Safety) to achieve safety objectives.

Typical Education / Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 20 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education
and experience (e.g. PhD+15 years' related work experience, Master+18
years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the
preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
