Follows generally prescribed procedures using limited judgment. Typical duties may include receiving, screening and routing telephone calls, mail and visitors, arranging itineraries/agendas, setting up and maintaining files (database and/or hardcopy) typing a variety of material, preparing purchase requisitions, miscellaneous disbursement vouchers, departmental transfer authorizations, travel expense forms, compiling data and preparing reports, maintaining inventory and purchasing office supplies and materials, maintaining budget records, and acting as daily liaison to other offices. Position may supervise student workers or other clerical staff.Additional Department Summary: Assists the director in the operation of the Capstone Center for Student Success. Oversees program and center support, general office, administrative and secretary duties with variety and complexity. Acts as liaison with internal and external departments, manage budget records, reconcile departmental purchasing card, supervise student employees and approves student time, compiling and maintain data and preparing reports, completes personnel action forms, purchasing office and center supplies and computer peripherals. General office, manage calendar and scheduling. Coordinates and arranges meetings. Manages office calendar and student appointments via SARS, answers student, parent and community inquires, coordinates purchases in line with University licensing and purchasing policies, manages student visit reports, performs general student triage to ensure priority needs are met.Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of general office experience; OR Associate's degree or higher.Skills and Knowledge: Experience with Concur, Banner, ARGOS, Astra, SARS, DegreeWorks, PageUp and Personal Actions and University of Alabama polices and procedures related to budget, purchasing, hiring, licensing, reporting, supervision are essential.Preferred Qualifications: Associate's degree or higher and at least four years of experience managing a complex department, office or center.
