about me: hey, I'm Kat. I am an ethnobotanist, craftswoman, and artist working in tuscaloosa. I run an online botanical and fine art small business out of my home that's growing rather quickly, and need some help with the plants, the labels, the framing, the manufacturing, et cetera.
I only need about a day of help every week, one or two hours at the most. the benefit of doing this is being able to put both art and botany experience on a resumé, and perhaps learning a thing or two along the way. that being said, I think it's a bad practice to pay in experience or exposure. I'm offering 12an hour, 12-24a week, for this reason.
about you: you speak plainly, and show up on time. this is not a retail or service position. it's alright if you don't smile. it's alright if you're an introvert- I am too. you will not have to go on coffee runs. you will not have to file endless paperwork. you will be compensated for any business errands you need to run - usually to home depot for soil or target for craft supplies. you will be treated like a human being worthy of kindness and respect. because you will be coming to my home office, you will also need to be trustworthy.
what you will be doing: my business sells a variety of interesting goods. dependent on what the stock looks like day by day, we will work accordingly. expect to do any or the following on a given day: perfume and candle making, embroidery, framing, plant watering (we sell plants!), plant cultivation and propagation, seedling transfer, planting, paper folding and crafts, bottling of perfumes and oils, resin sculpture work (the resin is non-toxic, don't worry), and incense making.
you do NOT need to have experience with any of these things to be considered for the position. you just need to be ready and willing to work and learn.
