Location: Ascension St. Vincent's Primary Care Cahaba Heights

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm

Ascension St. Vincent’s Primary Care Cahaba Heights, in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, delivers primary care to children and adults. Our primary care team takes the time to get to know you and your family and to learn about your family’s health history. Together, we work with you to promote your long-term health and well-being. We deliver a wide range of personalized services, including health physicals, screening tests, and treatments for existing health conditions. We’re here for your everyday healthcare needs, including:

• Annual, school and sports physicals
• Care for chronic conditions
• Newborn and child well-visits; vaccinations
• Healthcare for teenagers
• Preventive heart care (high blood pressure, irregular heartbeat)
• Referrals for cancer screenings
• Senior health
• Women’s wellness visits (Pap tests and family planning)
• Worker’s health exams (DOT/CDL)

What You Will Do:

Assist with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a provider (Physician mor Advanced Practice Provider).

• Assist with treatments ordered by provider as supervised by provider or registered nurse. Perform select clinical duties.
• Interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information on patients' charts. Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients.
• Perform basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.
• Perform basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies. Assist with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
• May document the provider's encounter with patients. List all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions, as indicated by the provider. Transcribe patient orders including, but not limited to, laboratory tests, radiology tests and medications.

What You Will Need:

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Medical Assistant Certification obtainted within 3 months (90 days) of hire or job transfer date required.
• CMA Certification or a diploma for Medical Assistant within 3 months (90 days) of hire date.

Education:

• High school diploma or GED required.
