About the position
We are looking for an experienced accountant to join our team. As a small firm, the range of tasks could be wide, from processing payroll to presenting financials at a client’s Board meetings. The key responsibilities for this position include supervising a part-time bookkeeper, working with clients on daily accounting tasks and questions, and assisting clients with preparation for audits, tax returns, budgets, etc.
This position reports directly to the business owner and will be involved in strategic planning and growing the business.

Management skills are a plus
Motivated in growing the business
Have at least 2 years of work experience as an accountant or controller or over 5 years of experience as a full-charge bookkeeper. CPA license or past experience working for CPA firm is a plus
Strong knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Attention to detail and good analytical skills
Knowledgeable and experienced in the non-profit sector, grant tracking and reporting
Have experience in closing the books at year-end, preparing for annual audit and working with auditors and tax preparers
Have aptitude with technology, open to implementing new tools
Proficient user of QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online. QuickBooks Payroll. QuickBooks Inventory. Certified Pro-advisor is a plus
Proficient user of Microsoft Office, Google Docs, Adobe
Experience working with Bill.com is a plus
Current Position
Work hours 30-40 hours per week
$25-$35 per hour depending on experience and qualifications
