First National Bank Alaska is seeking full-time Cash Management Support Manager. This position manages the Cash Management Support Unit and supports the development of new business, expansion of existing business relationships, and servicing of commercial customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Manages and directs the service and support of large commercial and government deposit accounts. Determines existing customer needs, proposes recommendations for complex customer solutions, acts as a liaison between the customer and other departments within the bank.

2. Ensures the highest level of service is provided to external and internal customers by directing the efforts of the Cash Management Support Unit staff to provide effective coaching, mentoring, training and monitoring of daily workflow and projects.

3. Supports the sales efforts of the Cash Management Sales Unit. This primary role is to ensure all business development officers, with business development responsibilities, are properly trained and up to date on the bank’s cash management solutions and assists with compiling training materials and directing appropriate resources to assist them in promoting these services in order to bring new customers to the bank and enhance relationships with existing customers.

4. Participates in the development and implementation of new or enhanced Cash Management solutions, ensures support unit staff is trained and directs appropriate conversion efforts.

5. Assumes the lead role for responding to formal and informal Requests for Information, Requests for Proposals and Invitations to Bid from commercial and government entities. Recommends competitive pricing that is also profitable to the bank. Regularly monitors and engages appropriate bank departments for RFPs and Invitations to Bid from a variety of resources.

6. Reviews cash management services agreements to ensure accurate completion and proper execution by customers, provides oversight with error resolution as needed to support sales staff. Obtains approvals and signatures on such agreements from appropriate bank officers as necessary.

7. Analyzes account relationships and assesses risk to approve/decline customer transactions as well as to establish and renew ACH, Wire Transfer, Remote Deposit Capture and other risk limits in accordance with the bank’s related risk management programs and within assigned limits helping to minimize exposure to bank loss.

8. Oversees the account analysis system for commercial accounts and relationships for profitability to ensure fees are being collected or properly offset with earnings. Reviews monthly and quarterly analysis reports for accuracy prior to distribution to management and sales staff.

9. Maintains awareness of industry trends, competitors' commercial product offerings and technological developments, and develops creative ways to increase and enhance our commercial product and service lines and/or automate and streamline internal processes.

10. Recommends and presents proposed commercial products, services, and pricing to supervisor, directs the implementation of approved proposals, presents proposed commercial products and services to top management and Board of Directors of external customers.

11. Keeps current with banking regulations pertinent to deposit accounts, electronic banking and cash management services. Recommends, updates, and implements changes to process, procedure and department manuals as necessary.

12. Performs other work-related tasks as assigned by supervisor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manages the Cash Management Support Unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, coaching and training employees; as well as planning, assigning, directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems/issues in the department.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Minimum: Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, economics, accounting or related field and 4 years experience in bank operations and/or cash management sales, marketing, sales management, corporate cash management or related field; or 7 years experience in bank operations and/or cash management sales and support, marketing, corporate cash management or related field; or equivalent combination of education/training and experience. 2 years management experience.

Preferred: At least 4 years of cash management, branch management or bank operations experience at First National Bank Alaska. Project management experience/skills. Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, economics, accounting or related field and 6 years experience in bank operations and/or cash management sales, marketing, sales management, corporate cash management or related field; or 9 years experience in bank operations and/or cash management sales and support, marketing, corporate cash management or related field; or equivalent combination of education/training and experience. 4 years management experience.
