The Prince William Sound Regional Citizens’ Advisory Council is hiring a full-time FINANCIAL MANAGER to work in the Council’s Anchorage, Alaska office. The financial manager functions as an important member of the management team and responsibilities include: organizing and recording financial transactions; preparing materials for periodic audits and for the annual tax filing; preparing and presenting financial reports to the staff, board, and finance committee; ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, organizational policies and procedures, and internal controls; and preparing and monitoring the annual operating budget. The financial manager will also be implementing a new accounting and reporting system.
The Council was formed in the aftermath of the Exxon Valdez oil spill with the mission of promoting the environmentally safe operation of the Valdez Marine Terminal and the associated tankers. The Council has an annual operating budget around $4.2M with a total staff of 18 and over 50 volunteers.
