Coastal Villages Region Fund is currently accepting applications for a Payroll Specialist to work at our Corporate Office in Anchorage, Alaska. The primary job responsibilities are, but not limited to, monitoring & uploading timesheets from WebTime module and manual submittals to Paylocity. Working with supervisor/managers for timesheet corrections to prepare payroll for payment. Review all hours and deductions, in an accurate and timely manner before sending for 2nd review.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reviews payroll data such as hours worked, taxes, and deductions from timesheets and other records for accuracy.

Research eligibility when payroll advances are requested. Create check request and forward to supervisor for approval.

Understand and process correct garnishment calculations.

Reconcile payroll prior to review and transmission to third party processor.

Prepare & maintain PTO balances workbook after each pay period.

Organize and perform routine upkeep of employee files and payroll filing.

Provide customer support for all employee payroll related questions, provide timely response to payroll queries.

Other duties as assigned.

POSITION TYPE & WORK SCHEDULE

This position reports directly to the Payroll Manager.

Starting wage: DOE “ Status: Non-Exempt, Full-Time

KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS

A two-year degree in accounting and/or two years of relevant accounting/payroll experience is preferred. We are willing to train the right individual. Must possess the ability to represent the company in a professional manner, both verbally and in writing. Must be able to maintain confidential payroll information. Significant working experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is required, while Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains and Paylocity. Payroll experience is a plus. Must have the ability to work in a fast paced, high volume, deadline driven payroll setting while maintaining a positive and productive work environment. A high regard for accuracy and attention to detail, along with strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires the ability to sit, be able to effectively use hands and fingers, and talk and listen. Will be occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop; kneel; and crouch. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and florescent lighting. It requires the regular use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
