The Operations Assistant is responsible for assisting the branch operations officer in all day-to-day branch operations. May direct the primary functions of a unit of the branch.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Builds schedules for unit staff, edits and may approve time clock records, and generates reports for review by supervisor. Upon delegation by Deposit Section Head, may direct, plan, and assign work to branch operations personnel.

2. Performs teller corrections, approves checks and deposits for tellers within assigned limits.

3. Approves and transmits wires using the branch wire system.

4. Performs training of branch operations personnel when necessary; references Operations Manual effectively, and keeps up-to-date on bank and federal policies, procedures, and regulations.

5. Helps prepare and maintain files of customer correspondence; directs correspondence to appropriate individuals.

6. Promotes and cross-sells all products and services of the bank determining which best suits customers' needs.

7. Assists with proof and review and large item return log; may perform daily audit of the branch vault or act as Vault Teller.

8. May perform specific daily functions as assigned by supervisor for specified operations positions, such as Customer Service Representative or Teller II at times of low staff coverage.

9. Performs other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

May directly supervise employees in assigned unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Supervisory responsibilities could include making recommendations regarding hiring and terminating employees.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum: Associates degree and two years financial industry or office management experience; or equivalent combination of education/training and experience. Preferred: Six months lead or supervisory experience.
