A small Alaskan engineering and construction management firm serving rural Alaska is looking for an experienced lead civil and/or lead mechanical engineer to lead our engineering team and expand our capabilities. The ideal candidate must have at least 8 years of relevant experience in the engineering and construction industries, along with supervisory experience and strong technical writing and excellent verbal communication skills. Engineering degree and active Alaska P.E. license are both required. Responsibilities include:
Create, develop, design, manage, and maintain projects
Oversee engineering staff
Conduct on-site investigations and analyze data
Assess potential risks, materials, and costs
Prepare technical and feasibility studies
Develop Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) and assist with Environmental Assessment (EA) or Environmental Report (ER) documents
Coordinate with CAD department to develop design drawings in AutoCAD & Civil 3D
Write technical memoranda/specifications
Prepare cost estimates and spec equipment/materials
Monitor progress/track schedules and budgets, and prepare monthly project summary reports
Provide support during construction administration phase
Scope of projects may include: water supply, treatment, storage, distribution; wastewater collection, treatment, disposal; rural roads, solid waste landfills, and bulk fuel facilities. Experience in AutoCAD and Rural Alaska is a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel are a must. Small, flexible office. Health benefit and retirement package. Salary DOE.
