Coffman Engineers Anchorage office is seeking a Mechanical Designer with five or more years of design experience. The successful candidate will work within the mechanical engineering department to lead the successful development of design packages. Coffmans Anchorage Office offers a small firm work environment with large firm opportunities.
In addition to being the Mechanical Designer, for some projects the candidate may be the overall project CAD lead and will coordinate with other discipline engineers and designers to produce a multidiscipline engineering design package for client submittal. The candidate will also develop drawings in conformance with project specifications, client CAD standards, scope of work, design parameters, codes, and industry practices with the ability to deliver complete and accurate design packages.
Requirements Include:
Graduation from a certified CAD training program or a Technical/Associates degree in engineering or related field (preferred).
5 or more years of progressive experience in AutoCAD and CADWorx (preferred) for mechanical piping design.
Proficiency in:
o 3D piping design software.
o Leading design and drawing package development on multidiscipline projects.
o Setting up new projects utilizing the AutoCAD sheet set manager (preferred), template files and dynamic referencing.
o Coordinating with clients and outside design team members on drafting standards and file exchanges.
o Coordinating design submittals. You will publish drawings in multiple formats and deliver or upload digital files to clients.
o Providing quality assurance of final design packages and upload into client document management systems.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to travel to job sites as needed.
