POSITION:
Telecom Drafter (AutoCAD)
LOCATION:
Anchorage, Alaska. Telecommuting is not an option.
DESCRIPTION:
This position requires intermediate to advanced skills in AutoCAD. Duties include updating telecom plant maps with utility data, project cost estimating using RUS units and miscellaneous telecom drafting tasks. Successful candidate shall be required to sign up with the IBEW (union) and pay respective monthly union dues.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proficiency using AutoCAD version 2016 and above
- Strong communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Drug and alcohol free. Prefer non-smoker
ADDITIONAL SKILLS DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
- Familiarity with telecommunication/utility plant maps
- Familiarity with easements and right-of-ways
- Some proficiency using ESRI's ArcGIS a plus, but this is not a GIS position
DURATION/SCHEDULE:
Duration is not defined or guaranteed. It shall be determined by client. Schedule is 40 hours per week.
COMPENSATION:
$36.62/hour
BENEFITS:
Union health insurance and pension benefits are through NECA/IBEW and subject to their program requirements. Holiday pay and paid vacation are not available for this position.
