ConocoPhillips operates the Kuparuk and Alpine oil fields, has an ownership interest in the Trans Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS) and owns/operates the Polar Tankers fleet.DescriptionIf you are selected as the Sr. Production Tax Analyst you will be provide support to ConocoPhillips as part of a collaborative team for the State of Alaska (SOA) Department of Revenue (DOR) with production tax accrual, monthly assessment and annual filings. As well as conduct internal and external audits and information requests and special projects as needed.Your responsibilities may include:

Understand the Alaska Production Tax statutes (AS 43.55) and regulations (15 AAC 55), how to apply them to CPAI operations and the processes/systems in place for compliance

Prepare the monthly SOA production tax accrual and assessment along with other related monthly and annual accruals

Collaborate with the AK Business Unit (BU) analysts, Revenue group, Commercial Accounting group and operations to understand the revenue and costs impacting production tax

Collaborate with BU, Strategy & Portfolio Management & others regarding budgets, LRP, forecasts and production tax impacts

Coordinate and complete the SOA annual production tax assessment and re-files

Coordinate audit requests for both CPAI internal, CPAI external, DOR auditors

Calculate interest applicable to accruals, refiles and annual filings

Report monthly/annual data into Revenue Online (ROL), understand the calculations/flow of data

Review work-papers and audit reports from the SOA DOR, as well as business process changes for potential effects on the production tax calculation

Maintain and update documentation of desk procedures and processes as necessary

Provide routine and ad hoc variance analysis and internal reports to Supervisor – AK Production Tax

#LIJTQualifications:Basic/Required:

Legally authorized to work in the United States

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance or Accounting or foreign equivalent

7 years of experience in finance, public accounting or tax

Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, (pivot tables, macros, formulas)

Preferred Skills:

CPA certification

3 years of experience in joint venture accounting or auditing

Proficient in SAP

Basic knowledge of BI, Essbase, Spotfire and Sequel

Basic knowledge of the Alaska Business Unit

Basic knowledge of SOA Production Tax laws and regulations

Ability to work with and influence others, both internal (financial, technical, operational, management) and external (SOA agents, external auditors)

Work effectively with all levels of employees and across group/department boundaries

Ability to translate relevant accounting financial data into substantial information

Ability to function independently as well as work as a standout colleague

Strong communication skills (written, oral, presentation)

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
