JOB SUMMARY The Fixed Asset Accountant records newly acquired fixed assets, tracks existing fixed assets, records depreciation, and accounts for fixed asset dispositions. .and.nbsp;Calista has many dynamic and expanding business lines, requiring detailed and accurate fixed asset accounts. .and.nbsp;The Fixed Asset Accountant provides a thorough understanding of the tax and GAAP rules in diverse fact patterns, contributing to company success with timely and accurate accounts and guidanceand.nbsp;ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS .and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; .and.nbsp;Create and monitor controls, procedures, and forms for fixed asset recording. .and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; .and.nbsp;Maintain fixed assets for book and tax using BNA software. .and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; .and.nbsp;Record fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions for multiple subsidiaries and business lines. .and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; .and.nbsp;Reconcile the fixed asset accounts in the fixed assets software to the general ledger. .and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; .and.nbsp;Calculate depreciation (including applicable bonus depreciation) for fixed assets and write journal entries to record. .and.nbsp; .and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; .and.nbsp;Investigate the potential obsolescence of fixed assets. .and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; .and.nbsp;Conduct periodic physical inventory of fixed assets. .and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; .and.nbsp;Generate fixed asset reports as requested by management and project teams. .and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; .and.nbsp;Prepare audit schedules relating to fixed assets and assist in responding to inquiries. .and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; .and.nbsp;Supply information for property tax return preparation and quarterly tax estimates. .and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; .and.nbsp;Seek efficiencies in processes and develop better procedures. .and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; .and.nbsp;Perform other duties as assignedand.nbsp;SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job does not have supervisory responsibilities. .and.nbsp;KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, .and.amp; ABILITIES .and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; .and.nbsp;Advanced knowledge and understanding in accounting for fixed assets and the general ledger. .and.nbsp; .and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; .and.nbsp;Ability to process a high volume of data with accuracy and meet various deadlines. .and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; .and.nbsp;Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records. .and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; .and.nbsp;Ability to professionally and effectively communicate with employees, business partners, and clients via written and verbal communication methodsand.nbsp; .and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; .and.nbsp;Advanced knowledge and skills in accounting systems and knowledge of company-specific softwareand.nbsp; .and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; .and.nbsp;Ability to visualize, articulate, and solve complex problems and concepts. .and.nbsp; .and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; .and.nbsp;Ability to use good judgment, discretion, and make decisions based on available information. .and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; .and.nbsp;Ability to handle stressful situations and effectively plan and organize duties to meet multiple deadlines.Job Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS.and.nbsp; .and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; .and.nbsp;Bachelor s Degree in Accounting or related field and 2-4 years of experienceand.nbsp; .and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; .and.nbsp;Fixed Asset experience preferred. .and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; .and.nbsp;Costpoint Database training and experience with BNA Fixed Assets software preferredand.nbsp; .and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; .and.nbsp;Ability to pass a drug, background, reference, and credit check. .and.nbsp;WORKING ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
