We are The Solution.Job Summary:Ground Service Equipment Technicians (GSE) maintain, repair, and perform maintenance (preventive and on-demand) on aircraft ground support equipment (motorized and non-motorized, gasoline and diesel fueled).The GSE position is a support services position whose work routine is established and follows a set of procedures.It generally functions under close supervisory direction or guidance of the GSE Manager.Responsibilities:
Safe and efficient operations of all ground service equipment
Operate ground service equipment (GSE)
Operate aircraft de-icing equipment
General tune-up of GSE
Order/pick-up parts for vehicle maintenance
Responsible for maintaining safety and security of the ramp at all times
Observe safe ground handling procedures and maintenance of ground handling equipment, including the performance of equipment checks
Miscellaneous duties as assigned by Supervisor and Manager
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
5 years of heavy equipment maintenance experience
Be at least 18 years of age
Must be willing to work in inclement weather
Good communication skills
Must be a U.S. citizen or show proof of right to work in the U.S.
High School graduate or GED
Possess a valid driver’s license
Ability to lift 60 pounds comfortably
Able to fluently read, write, speak and understand English
Friendly and outgoing personality
Ability to work under stressful situations and tight time constraints
Must be a self starter and willing to take the initiative
able and willing to work without direct supervision
Required to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules
Successfully complete a background investigation, including FBI fingerprints, criminal history and pre-employment drug test
Accept all other assigned duties asa team
Physical Demands:
The GSE on occasion may lift or move with help up to 200 pounds, and/or more frequently lift or move 70 to 100 pounds, and constantly lift or move up to 50 pounds the GSE is regularly required to use hands, talk, hear, bend, stoop, kneel, and is frequently required to stand, walk
The GSE may be required to climb, sit, and balance
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus
The GSE is usually working outside and is exposed to all types of weather conditions with a seasonal range of temperatures which include rain, snow, wind and extreme temperatures
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can vary dramatically depending on location and time of day. Occasionally high noise levels where hearing protection is required and provided
Language Skills:
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, electrical and hydraulic schematics
Write routine reports and correspondence
Speak effectively one-to-one and before groups of customers or employees of the organization
Math skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Reasoning Abilities:
Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram form
Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
