At NMS, we expect our employees to fulfill that missionin every aspect of their work.SummaryThe Lead Cook position isresponsible for the preparation, production, and presentation of a variety offoods, completion of production sheets and other associated food serviceactivities.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Preparesfood as indicated by par level sheets and in accordance with both NutritionalServices and Health Department standards.

Abilityto work independently with very little oversight.

Reviewthe needs of the day with assigned supervisor(s).

Isresponsible for quantity and quality control in food production as well asoverall sanitation of assigned area.

Participatesin daily temperature and taste panels to assure quality and provide suggestionsfor continuous improvements.

Abilityto follow standardized recipes.

Abilityto record all portions produced and any waste.

Presentsall items with appropriate garnish and correct portion size.

Followsall HACCP protocol, temp logs, and sanitation logs.

Inspectfood preparation and serving areas to ensure quality presentation andsanitation.

Conducttaste panel on all foods before serving.

Maintainsa neat and clean personal appearance.

Followsdress code according to departments policies.

Assistsother food service personnel.

Activelysupports and participates in performance improvement activities.

Assistscoworkers during staffing shortages.

Thisposition is responsible for the supervision of staff.

Other duties that are pertinent to thedepartment or unit’s success also may be assigned.

QualificationsMinimum Requirements

Musthave a High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Musthave Municipality of Anchorage Food Handler’s Card or ServSafe contingent upon30 days of hire.

Musthave two 2 years’ experience in a commercial kitchen in a food serviceoperation, restaurant, hotel or hospital.

Musthave knowledge and training in using a variety of food production equipment.

Mustbe able to work independently and complete assignments in a timely manner.

Mustpass a fingerprinting background investigation that complies with The Crime ControlAct, Child Care Worker Act and the Indian Child Protection and Family ViolencePrevention Act.

Contractrequires employees to speak, understand, read and write English.

Proofof immunization for measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), Varicella (chicken pox), TB,and any other immunizations and screenings designated in the current ANTHCEmployee Health Program for Infection Control in Hospital Personnel.

Contractrequires candidate to get a flu shot pre-hire and annually thereafter.

Contractormay be required to maintain all employee health records on site.
