At NMS, we expect our employeesto fulfill that mission in every aspect of their work.SummaryTheRemote Housekeeping Specialist directs the activities of those involved inproviding a variety of industrial housekeeping services, provides a broadvariety of cleaning projects and services required to maintain the cleanliness,efficiency, and livability of various commercial/industrial facilities, andoperates and directs the activities of a commissary facility. Additional responsibilities of equalimportance are the management of a camp staff, training compliance and newtechnology integration. Procurement,inventory and budget are an integral part in this role. All duties are to beperformed in accordance with NMS’ mission, vision, and values as well asdepartmental policies, practices, and procedures.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Performsall duties required of a housekeeper or other assigned employee.

Functionas a primary resource for NMS housekeeping and janitorial services in remotecamp settings.

Responsiblefor delivering and tracking performance to meet key performance indicators.

Responsiblefor implementing new technology services to create efficiencies and streamlineprocesses for remote camps housekeeping and janitorial operations.

Develops,implements and delivers training programs for varying levels of individualswithin the housekeeping and janitorial division.

Developsand maintains JSA and THA support materials to be used for new training and forreference once training has been completed.

Continuallyevaluates training progress and training procedures to monitor and analyzetraining material effectiveness and update training material as needed.

Workwith vendors and Procurement Manager to research new product, manage quality ofexisting product and ensure quality compliance.

Workwith Operations team on start up for new contracts and re-bid on existingcontracts.

Travelingto existing remote sites for site inspections, ensuring inventory control andemployee development.

Assign,supervise, and guide all unit housekeeping and janitorial staff.

Plansand prepares work schedules and assignments.

Approvesstaff payroll documents, payables, etc.

Trainsnew staff and provides ongoing training to existing staff.

Establishesquality standards and work procedures for staff and evaluates theirperformance.

Assiststaff in the resolution of work related difficulties.

Providerecognition, counseling and discipline to assigned staff.

Mayperform some actual duties of assigned staff as well as cover unusualcircumstances.

Responsibilitiesmay include interviewing and or hiring housekeeping and janitorial staff.

Adhereto strict safety guidelines, utilizing proactive methods.

Activelysupport and provide guidance in accordance with established safety program,policies and practices.

Activelyparticipates in corporate safety program.

Conductsafety meetings and insures daily operations are in compliance with company andclient safety requirements.

Identifies,resolves, or appropriately reports worksite safety hazards.

Responsiblefor HazCom implementation documentation.

Completeaccounting, safety, or administrative documentation or record keeping.

Completeassigned supply orders and billings.

Regularlytake, control, replace, and disperse assigned inventories.

Regularlyconduct facility inspections to maintain the quality of provided services.

Coordinateassociated equipment care and maintenance.

Manageunit scheduling and various travel requests.

Personallyresolve minor maintenance or client emergencies as they occur or take steps topermanently address them.

Maybe responsible for handling commissary: cash, inventory control, deposits,ordering, and merchandising.

Notifysupervisor is safety and sanitation standards are not being met.

Thisposition is responsible for the supervision of staff.

Other duties that are pertinent to thedepartment or unit’s success also may be assigned.

QualificationsMinimum Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by formal training, or equivalent experience.

At least ten (10) years verifiable management experience in housekeeping, janitorial or service industry.

This experience must demonstrate a working knowledge of cleaning processes and equipment; training and providing direction to staff; and involvement in or advanced knowledge of corporate safety programs.

A valid Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under NMS’ vehicle insurance policy

Must have intermediate skills operating Microsoft Office applications.

Must pass all pre-employment contract requirements which may include but are not limited to: hair follicle drug test, physical and fit for duty assessment and hearing test. Applicants not located near a testing facility are responsible for paying for travel to the nearest testing facility.

Must be able to cooperate and work as part of a team with fellow employees, customers and clients.

Must be able to make decisions in the moment with little to no supervision.

Must be able to be on your feet for 12 hours per shift for the scheduled rotation.

Must be able to live in dormitory style settings and meet cleanliness requirements of the remote camp.

Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read and write English.

Must meet and adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations set forth by the company and client.

CANDIDATESRESIDING OUTSIDE ANCHORAGE AREA:Candidates residing inthe Lower 48 for any contract and/or hired for the BP contract: For the purposes of pre-employment testing, Anchorage willbe considered the point of hire (with the exception of drug testing, which willbe conducted near the candidate’s place of residence). Employee is responsiblefor any travel expenses and needed accommodations related to pre−employmenttasks that need to be completed in Anchorage, AK. This includes, but is notlimited to, any safety training requirements, required pre−employment testingand/or training such as physical, DOT physical/medical card, fit for duty,audiogram, and/or other testing required by contract/company (such as NSTC,APICC training, security licensing requirements, etc.Candidates residing inAlaska for Alyeska and Hillcorp contracts: pre-employment testing will be scheduled near the candidate’s area of residencewithin the state. The only exception is when the candidate lives in a regionwithout the necessary service providers to complete all requirements.Flightsto Remote Locations: All employees areresponsible for all expenses related to reporting to point of hire (Anchorage,AK) for scheduled trips paid for by the company for remote locations.Working Conditions and Physical RequirementsWeather:Indoor/Outdoor. Frequently exposed toarctic conditions.Noiselevel: Moderate to LoudDescriptionof environment: This is a remote camp setting.Employees must constantlybe able to stand, walk, climb, push, pull use hands and arms, stoop, kneel and crouch. Employees are occasionally exposed to fumesor airborne particles and may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.Travel: This position requires extensive travel toremote sites(Up to 75%). Must be able to travel by plane and/or bus toremote camps.Physicalrequirements: Fit For Duty Test

Lift: Lift 35 lbs. from floor to knuckle x2

Lift: Lift 35 lbs. from floor to waist x 2

Lift: Lift 8 lbs. from floor to shoulders x 2

Lift: Lift 8 lbs. from floor to crown level x 2

Carry: Carry 25 lbs. with two hands for a minimumdistance of 50 feet

Stoop & Twist: Perform alternate cross over toe touches x 5each side, self-paced but continuous.

Squat Test: Functionally squat x 5, self-paced butcontinuous.

Kneel: Kneel on one knee and stand. Return to kneel on opposite knee. Repeat alternate kneeling sequence x 5 foreach knee, self-pace but continuous.

Stairs: Climb up and down 10 steps x 5 for a total of50 steps;

Allow 30 second rest afterclimbing up and down each set of 25 steps, self-paced.

Stairs & Carry: Climb up and down 10 steps x 5 for a total of50 steps while carrying 25 lbs. in one hand and using the other hand to grasp arailing for safety, self-paced.

Allow a 30 second restperiod after climbing up and down 25 steps while carrying.

Slanted Ladder: Climb a slanted ladder with 2 rungs x 2repetitions for a total of 4 rungs, self-paced but continuous.
