The Bear Tooth TheatrePub & Grill is currently hiring for an Executive Chef!

We are a locally-owned business comprised of two full-service restaurants, a 400 seat movie theatre, and offering take-out from both kitchens. Located in the heart of Spenard in Anchorage, Alaska, our goal is to be a community hub by offering great fare and interesting events. The Executive Chef position is responsible for overseeing the prep, theatre, and grill kitchens. This includes but is not limited to: mentoring and developing culinary and leadership skills, menu and food development, collaboration with FOH and BOH managers, monitoring and managing labor budgets, and maintaining and setting up systems.

We are seeking a talented and experienced Executive Chef who thrives in a high-volume, high-energy work environment. We're looking for someone who has a passion for delicious food, an industrious work ethic, and a desire for a kind and respectful work environment. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, with a hands-on approach to developing teams and leaders within each kitchen, and maintaining standards for food preparation and presentation that help to ensure consistently excellent food.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Minimum 5 years experience as Executive or Head Chef.

• Minimum 5 years high volume cooking experience

• Culinary degree/Business or equivalent working experience

• Experience managing multiple departments/kitchens concurrently

• Exceptional leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively

• Ability to read and produce financial reporting

• Experience developing and maintaining cost control systems

• Experience developing and maintaining training systems

• Catering experience

• Positive and motivated attitude

• Strong leadership skills

• Solid knowledge of cooking techniques and flavors

• Ability to provide consistent and excellent food quality

• Hands-on approach to all operational aspects
