Job Description
Alaska Neurology Center is seeking a full time Medical Billing and Coding Specialist to join our practice.
Responsibilities:
Complete understanding of client encounter forms.
Ability to code all patient office visits into billable units.
Submit billable data to insurance providers.
Work claims and claim denials to ensure maximum reimbursement for services provided.
Audit coding batches as deemed necessary.
Exercise knowledge of CMS guidelines and ability to apply accurately.
Exercise knowledge of EHR software preferably EPIC.
Possess extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
Display an ability to quickly learn new processes and procedures.
Possess an adaptable and flexible personality.
Enjoy working independently in a fast paced environment.
Superior communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines without being micromanaged.
Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
Analyze issues and generate creative solutions.
Qualifications:
Computer proficient with a strong understanding of Microsoft Office applications.
Able to type 40 wpm.
2+ years' experience as a Medical Coding/Billing Specialist
Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
Workable knowledge of EHR software, codes and appropriate modifiers.
