Job Opportunities:

Administrative Assistant in Anchorage with the Child Care Assistance Program. Full time position available to provide clerical support and excellent customer service. Minimum Qualifications: Must be a positive person with the ability to multitask. High school diploma or equivalent and one-year successful work experience. Preferred Qualifications: High school diploma and additional computer training and one-year successful work experience in data entry.

Administrative Assistant in Wasilla with the WIC Program. Full time position available to provide exceptional customer service and accurate and timely staff support. Responsibilities include welcoming clients, answer and direct communications, input client data, providing staff support and general office duties. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent and one year of successful work experience including proficiency with computers. Preferred Qualifications: Associate’s degree and two years’ successful work experience in an administrative position.

Case Manager in Palmer for the Family Support and Preservation Program. Responsibilities: Provide family support, preservation and/or family contact services to client families. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Education, Social Work, Sociology or closely related field and one-year successful experience in family issues including; parenting support, parent education, child development, child management, child abuse including sexual abuse and neglect, crisis intervention and domestic violence. Preferred Qualifications: One-year additional experience with a background in family mediation, working with families in a home-based setting, and a clear understanding of high-risk family dynamics.

Eligibility Technician in Anchorage with the Child Care Assistance Program. Responsibilities include scheduling and conducting parent interviews for program eligibility, determining subsidy level and eligible/available funds. Create and maintain accurate and timely files for clients. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent and two years of successful work experience in a related field. Preferred Qualifications: Associate's degree with one year of successful work experience in a related field.

Family Contact Facilitator in Wasilla for the Family Support and Preservation Program. Full and Part time positions available to provide parent coaching and feedback for family time that takes place in a “home-like” setting. Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s degree in education, social work, sociology or related field. One year successful experience in family issues including; parenting support, parent education, child development, child management, child abuse including sexual abuse and neglect, crisis intervention and domestic violence. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and one year additional experience in family mediation, proven parenting support services and a clear understanding of high-risk family dynamics.

Operations Director in Palmer. Full time position reporting directly to the CEO, the Operations Director will oversee, direct and organize AFS’ programs, information technology, building operations and grant management, while providing supervision and mentoring 12 Program Managers to ensure operational excellence. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Nonprofit Management, Public Health, Public Administration, or related field and five years of progressively responsible professional experience in the nonprofit sector. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree with a proven track record that demonstrates proficiency in business administration, staff management, collaborative leadership, and budget oversight.

Substance Abuse Counselor in Wasilla for the Behavioral Health Treatment Center. Full Time, Part Time or Relief positions available to provide substance abuse treatment services in an outpatient program. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in human services or related field, or equivalent experience. One year of experience in substance abuse counseling. and the ability to become a Qualified Addictions Professional within three years (achieve a minimum certification as a CDCII, BHAII or NCACI). Must be eligible to enroll as a provider in Alaska Medicaid. Preferred Qualifications: Current certification as a CDCI or higher. Master’s degree in counseling, human services or related field.

Supervising Clinician in Wasilla for the Behavioral Health Treatment Center (BHTC). Full Time position available to provide direct service delivery; leadership and supervision of the SUD treatment team; and lead development of co-occurring program. Leads the SUD clinical team in support of the BHTC treatment philosophy and ensures a culture of teamwork and joint accountability. Sustains the clinical integrity of Alaska Family Services’ BHTC by assigning cases, reviewing documentation, and leading treatment-team meetings. Applies mental health/addiction counseling knowledge, skills, and abilities to conduct mental health/substance abuse screening, assessment and treatment services to clients within various treatment modalities. Maintains a reduced clinical caseload to provide time for leadership responsibilities. Collaborates closely with the BHTC Administrator to ensure clients access a safe, empowering continuum of care. Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in behavioral health field (sociology, counseling, psychology, psychiatric nursing, addiction studies, human services or social work). Two years mental health/substance abuse clinical experience with children, youth and adults. Eligible to enroll or currently enrolled as a provider in Alaska Medicaid. License-eligible within two years of hire (Master’s level and/or CDC-II or equivalent chemical dependency certification). Preferred Qualifications: Four years mental health/substance abuse clinical experience with children, youth and adults. Appropriate licensure with supervision capabilities (LCSW, LPC, and/or CDC-II, CDC-S or equivalent chemical dependency certification).
