Job purpose: To receive incoming freight for the retail store.

Duties and responsibilities

• Unloads freight

• Ensure accuracy of freight compared to receiving reports.

• Communicates with store manager and assistant manager that freight has arrived.

• Communicate with personnel when freight is available to stock in store.

• Make sure product scans correctly.

• Organizes and distributes freight to the pertinent slot/bin locations in an efficient, timely manner.

• Executes the processing and follow through of Special Orders.

• Operates forklift frequently.

• Segregates freight and breaks down pallets.

• Keeps warehouse clean and organized. Inspects the warehouse for safety issues and corrects any issues.

• Assists in cycle counting and assurance of accurate inventories.

• Maintains paperwork in a systematic manner, and communicates information about products and material at all times.

• Assists warehouse supervisor in other warehouse duties as needed.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED is required.

• Must be 18 years of age.

• Forklift experience is necessary. In-house forklift certification is mandatory.

• Must be familiar with forklift loading/unloading skills, load placement and weight distribution.

Knowledge and Experience:

• Must be organized and able to prioritize work.

• Writing skills and legible penmanship are required.

• Good communication and organizational skills are essential.

• Knowledge of computerized inventory systems is required.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to lift 50-70 lbs safely and often daily.

• Requires the ability to climb ladders and stairs several times daily as needed.

• Must be able to safely use hands and arms in reaching and moving materials and products.

• Requires lifting, bending, standing, walking on a hard surface, and sitting on a forklift for long periods.

• Must be able to work indoors, outdoors and in dusty environments.

Working Relationship

Must maintain a good working relationship with coworkers, supervisors in other departments and office personnel. Must act in a professional manner at all times and demonstrate strong teamwork abilities.

Directly reports to: Store Manager, Store Assistant Manager

Salary: DOE
