Position Overview:

Under supervision from facility Process Engineer process water and oily waste using specific treatment chemicals and processes in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures. Facility operations include the receiving and processing of drummed and bulk non-hazardous and hazardous wastes, and tank/vacuum truck cleaning. Receive, sort, consolidate, weigh and pack waste for shipping and disposal in accordance with state, Federal, and company regulations and safety protocol.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Assist in pumping inbound water and oily waste from barrels and PT truck

Operate forklift

Operate Vac Truck

Unload non-hazardous and hazardous waste at facility

Tank cleaning and waste removal services as assigned

Assist in off-loading inbound drum and bulk waste

Sample drums, Q.C. bulk load before offloading

Maintain and complete QC and Waste Generated forms

Perform lab testing (Chloro Detec; PCB, AF Refractive, Flash Points, BS&W)

Close containers and store in appropriate location

Knowledge of safety hazards and appropriate precautions applicable to work assignments

Knowledge of and ability to use PPE including respirator, work boots, safety glasses and gloves

Maintain a safe and clean work environment

Interface with Facility manager, Process Engineer, Administration Personnel, Field Technicians and Transport Drivers

Demonstrate a consistent and reliable work ethic by adhering to work schedules and utilizing time efficiently in order complete assigned tasks within defined deadlines.

Demonstrate behaviors consistent with a self-starter such as finding work to do between direct assignments, follow through with tasks, and take ownership and pride in work performed.

Demonstrate an ability to effectively cooperate and communicate with co-workers and personnel in other departments.

Exhibit a high level of integrity, honesty and professionalism in all activities and situations.

Ability to perform simple calculations including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

40 hr. Hazwoper Certificate is preferred

Confined Space Entry is preferred

Forklift Operation Certification is preferred

High School Diploma or Equivalent
