General Contractor seeks Quality Control System Manager for United States Army Corps of Engineers projects in Clear, AK. Prior Corps QCSM experience required. Corps CQM Certificate and 5 years construction experience absolutely required. The QCSM shall be responsible for overall management of CQC. The CQC System Manager shall be on the site at all times during construction. Responsibilities include assuring all contractors and subcontractors comply with engineering standards and specifications. In addition, this individual makes certain that all engineering, surveys, inspections, etc. are complete and comply with the project.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

1. Implement/Oversee site QC/QA Program.

2. Support project teams with their efforts to improve the quality of the finished product.

3. Perform inspections, examinations and witnessing of systems, sub-systems and components and documenting results.

4. Communicate with subcontractors to help insure they understand and comply with construction documents.

5. Monitor all construction activities to determine that the work being performed is in accordance with the contract documents and documenting findings.

6. Report QC/QA monthly activity status to management.

7. Review and Process Submittals against the Specifications, maintain submittal Register.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Participate in construction meetings.

2. Review contractor quality control plans and records.

3. Assist in the resolution of quality control issues.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1. Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture Or Engineering Technician with 2 years of college and an ICC certification as a Commercial Building Inspector.

2. Experience in P6 Scheduling software preferred

3. Prior RMS/QCS Software experience

4. CQM Certificate required

5. Minimum 5 years similar construction experience

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

1. Ability to read and interpret the requirements of construction drawings, specifications and shop drawings.

2. Knowledge of mechanical, plumbing and electrical construction practices.

3. Good communication and computer skills.

4. Ability to work independently.

OTHER SKILLS

1. Effective communication

2. Competent with personal computer including WORD, EXCEL, and spreadsheet applications.

Wage DOE. Expect a 6/10 schedule through spring of 2020.

Position is in Clear, Alaska. Housing and food is provided on site.
