Position Summary: Coordinate and organize processes and people to maintain smooth workflow between the kitchen and the dining areas to help ensure fast and quality service.
Duties:
Ensure the efficient flow of orders between the servers and the kitchen
Ensure orders are being prepared and served with the correct priority
Assist with the final preparation of dishes
Check dishes before delivery for accuracy, presentation and temperature
Deliver orders to maintain fast service
Assist with eliminating obstacles in service, food preparation and/or dishwashing
Transfer important information between the kitchen and the service staff
Be familiar with menu items and specials
Assist with set up, maintenance, and break down of buffets
Assist with food and beverage service
Assist with bussing and resetting tables
Operate Point of Sale system
Complete side work, including assisting in the kitchen, refilling salt & pepper shakers, prepping napkins and silverware, etc.
Assist with maintaining a clean work environment
Observe health and safety precautions required to protect people and property
All other duties as assigned
Requirements
Education, Knowledge and Skills:
Alaska Alcohol Server Training required
Alaska Food Worker Card required
Minimum of 6 months experience preferred
Able to lift and move up to 30 lbs.
Able to lead and direct people
Able to organize, coordinate and multi-task
Able to stay calm and productive under pressure
Able to self-motivate and work with minimal supervision; identifying what needs to be done and following through without regular instruction to meet or exceed goals
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service, to include assessing needs, meeting quality standards, and evaluating customer satisfaction
Strong conversational English language skills required; ability to speak clearly and understand what is being said by others
Strong written and oral communication skills, to include effectively conveying information to others, and giving full attention to what other people are saying and taking the time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
Able to perform with sufficient physical ability and mobility to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally sit, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate restaurant equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of computer keyboard and/or touch pad; to verbally communicate to exchange information; to see and hear within a reasonable range for a restaurant environment with or without correction.
