Summary/Objective

The purpose of this position is to ensure the cleanliness of rooms and public spaces. The Room Attendant/Housekeeper position will come in contact with guests and will need to have positive guest interactions. Housekeeping Associates play an important role for our home-away-from home experience for each of our guests every day.

Essential Functions

Acknowledges and greets guests in public spaces with a warm, friendly greeting.

Reviews daily inventory of rooms, arrivals and departures.

Reviews daily inventory of supplies needed to complete the assignments for the day.

Cleaning of hotel rooms/condos including: dusting, vacuuming, changing bed linens, cleaning bathrooms, kitchen area, lobby and common areas.

Perform quality cleaning to meet required standards within set time limits.

Comply with all resort safety guidelines.

Pick up ground litter around hotel or wherever visible.

Required to work near guest personal items therefore practice discretion.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This position operates in a hotel setting. There are stairs and uneven surfaces. The employee may be exposed to hazards including, but are not limited to, slipping, tripping, and falls. Frequent hand washing is required due to staff interactions in food prep areas. Job responsibilities may include working outdoors in the Denali, Alaska area in Spring and Fall, when temperatures are at or below freezing and walking surfaces may be slippery.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and perform task effectively. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping and crouching. The position may require occasional moving of products weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly.

Required Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Preferred Education and Experience

Previous hotel experience.
