Position Available - Legal Advocate

Interior Alaska Center for Non-Violent Living is looking for a full time Legal Advocate to join our team. In this position you will have the opportunity to provide support to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault through legal matters that include; protective orders, divorce and custody, as well as accompaniment to court hearings and advocating when appropriate with other community agencies. Ability to adhere to policies and Alaska Statutes regarding confidentiality is a must. Candidate also must be able to participate in the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART), and present a professional demeanor to the community through appearance, communication, and presentation.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice or Paralegal Certificate or equivalent job experience. Excellent interpersonal, group, and written communication skills required. Ability to handle sensitive issues in a mature, confidential manner with integrity and compassion, and ability to pass a background check. Proficient with computers, data base input, presentation programs and equipment, and possess a valid Alaska Driver's License.
