JOB SUMMARY:

The Scale House Operator is entry-level skilled work position consisting of a range of clerical and operational duties. The Scale Operator is responsible for the accurate daily operation of the scale including scale software and hardware as well as maintaining scale platform.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

•Operate scale software.

•Change scale printer paper as needed.

•Weigh trucks and accurately record truck and weight information according to established company weighing procedures.

•Keep hand record of tare weights and record of trucks loads throughout shift.

•Dispatch Brown Hill Quarry (BHQ) delivery trucks and operate computer work order dispatching system.

•Communicate with Brown Hill Quarry (BHQ) office personnel and pit loader operators with handheld radio and telephone system.

•Create scale computerized customer sales reports at the end of shift and reconcile customer sales report and work order receipts to hand scale records for the day.

•Call delivery customers prior to dispatching truck to confirm material, quantities, delivery time and pricing.

•Clean outside the scale platform of debris to ensure proper operation of load cells.

•Assist in paperwork filing as needed.

•Generate scale reports as needed.

•Communicate and correct any scale software problems in coordination with Business Office Coordinator.

•Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

•Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

•Ability to use a computer and knowledge of standard and specific business applications, such as computerized accounting, e-mail, electronic spreadsheet development, database, and word processing; ability to learn new software applications.

•Ability to work in a Native Corporation multi-business environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

•High School Diploma or GED required.

•Two years previous experience in windows-based software programs required.

•Preference for previous experience as scale operator.

•Ability to pass drug and background screening.
