Overview of Property: This mine, located on Admiralty Island, 18 miles south of Juneau, is an underground polymetallic mine employing approximately 415 people. Established in 1891, we have a rich history as a distinguished and respected precious metals producer. Winner of numerous safety and environmental awards, we are seeking new team members committed to professional growth and success. Construction Position Summary: Builds and repairs underground mine infrastructure such as bulkheads, ventilation air doors, vent raise/escapeway ground support and construction. Shotcrete Position Summary: Drives concrete mixer truck under loading hopper at batch plant to receive concrete/shotcrete. Drives truck underground to designated area, using radio communication, to shotcrete spray truck or an area for a concrete pad. Helps pour and finish concrete, runs loader and trackhoe to fill batch plant. Cleans and performs routine maintenance on mixer trucks, loaders, and trackhoes. Skills Required: Welding Fabrication Mechanical Ability Jackleg Experience Slinging and rigging experience Working at heights experience Troubleshooting mechanical and hydraulic systems Equipment operation experience Must be able to obtain ATF Employee Possessor clearance. Are entry level positions that will provide the incumbent(s) significant experience in a working underground mine. The training and resulting skills gained in this position may be useful for future advancement to positions of increasing responsibility and pay. Other duties may be assigned. Employees must comply with attendance, safety, environmental and HR policies. While performing the duties of this job, employees may be frequently required to stand, walk or sit for extended periods of time; use hand and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; regularly required to talk and hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision requirements for this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Employees may be frequently exposed to underground work environments; outside weather conditions, wet and/or humid conditions; extreme cold, extreme heat, potentially hazardous wildlife; moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; explosives and vibration. The noise level in most work environments is usually very loud. This position may require work on nights, weekends and rotating shifts; shift schedules may require residency in on-island camp during work rotations. Other duties may be assigned.
