Northland Audiology & Hearing Services, Inc. is seeking a full-time Patient Care Coordinator to join our team at our Juneau location. This position plays an integral role in our medical practice and is available immediately for the right individual. The patient experience is highly valued at our office; excellent customer service, an outgoing personality, positive attitude, patience, strong work ethic, and great interpersonal skills are a must. We are looking for someone who will be the energetic, friendly, welcoming face/voice for our patient interactions. As such, this person is not only representing him/herself but also Northland Audiology & Hearing Services and our brand, both in-person and over-the-telephone.

Job Duties:

Welcomes, orients and educates patients and their families by meeting them, explaining their role as the patient care coordinator, initiating intake forms and processing appropriate paperwork, and providing educational information related to products and follow-up care.

Optimizes patients' satisfaction, provider time and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in-person or by telephone.

Coordinates providers' daily schedule and schedules patient follow-ups; generates leads by engaging throughout the patient intake processes.

Maintains patient care database by entering new information as it becomes available; verifying findings and reports; backing up data.

Develops management tools by participating in meetings; coordinates information with the Doctors of Audiology and support staff, resolving issues that could affect smooth care progression; fosters teamwork and provides feedback on patient experience.

Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards; must maintain a professional and patient focused attitude.

Manages payments/copays; updates and verifies insurance benefits.

Patient Care Coordinator Skills and Qualifications

Basic computer skills (MS Word) and strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Experience in a medical office is a plus, although not required. Must enjoy answering the telephone and engaging with people. The right candidate must be a quick learner who is very detail-oriented. This position can be fast-paced; the ability to multi-task and prioritize is key for this position.

Normal work hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm with a 1-hour lunch break. Hourly rate will depend on experience. Opportunity for bonus when applicable. Vacation, sick, and holiday pay and a monthly stipend towards the health insurance of your choice are given to all full-time employees. Profit sharing and 401k are available after the first full year of employment.
