Immediate openings for Seasonal Highway Stripers at Specialized Pavement Marking, Inc., a large highway striping and pavement marking company, in Juneau, Alaska.
Field work is performed in an outdoor setting with exposure throughout Central and Southeast Alaska. This could often include long hours of bending, stooping and walking. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Traveling is a requirement for all applicants; a $40.00/day per diem compensation is paid for all out-of-town work and hotel expenses are paid by employer.
Candidates must possess a good knowledge of state and local roadways and have experience with operating vehicles of varying sizes; communicate reports and evaluations effectively both orally and in writing.
Candidates will possess the following skills:
Maintenance and repairs of Highway Equipment & Company Fleet
Occasional service and repair of equipment in the field
Perform preventive maintenance on equipment
Operate Removal Equipment, Drive Paint/Striping Truck (training available)
Qualifications:
Class A or B CDL with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements and current Medical Examiners Card or willing to obtain these within 6 months of employment
Able to pass pre-employment and random drug tests per DOT regulations
The hourly wage private wage is negotiable and depending on experience. All field Highway Striping hours are paid Prevailing Wage, currently $31.26 and $27.41 per hour for fringe benefits including: 401k, Health, Dental and Vision Benefits after a probationary period of 60 days.
