Job Description
Looking for a reliable person to assist in freight logistics at Alaska Glacier Seafoods. Candidate must be energetic, computer proficient, detail orientated and must consistently follow through on a variety of projects. Must have basic knowledge of computers, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel. This is a full time, year-round position with Medical/ Dental/ Vision insurance and 401K. Wage will be negotiated DOE. This position requires a flexible schedule, as it requires some seasonal overtime work. Ideal candidate can work a Tuesday through Saturday work week during our peak salmon season. This position is directly supervised by the Logistics Coordinator.
Responsibilities
Oversee our out-of-state fresh and live seafood program: freight coordination, tracking, billing, correspondence with customers and freight vendors
Work closely with our production team to facilitate a timely order fulfillment and delivery process
Follow up and respond to all freight and billing/invoicing related issues; file claims, as necessary, with customers and vendors
Review freight rates/contracts and process freight bills
Generate shipping documents for frozen southbound containers and correspond with local barge companies to arrange container deliveries and pickups
Assist in months end inventory reporting and monitor customer receivables
Assist with in-transit and outside warehouse inventory, product releases, and billing
Assist with export sales
Assist with custom processing orders, billing, and transportation
Arrange upper-management travel accommodations
Backup to front-office administrative staff on various tasks: phone coverage, assisting visitors, apparel and bait sales, employee purchases, local sales, accepting rent, etc.
Filing and scanning of all pertinent sales documentation
Assist with year-end freight and sales reporting
Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma and bachelors degree (or sufficient work experience as a substitute)
Training/Skills:
Highly motivated, responsible, and dependable
Ability to prioritize responsibilities in a quickly changing environment
Ability to consistently follow through and problem solve
Excellent listener and communication skills in person, on the phone and via computer
Proficient with computers: Quickbooks, Excel, MS Word, inventory programs
Detail orientated
