This position is responsible for overall coordination of day-to-day services, including but not limited to staff development, supervision, staff recruitment, overseeing the hiring process, interpersonal communication, scheduling, direct care with recipients and execution of our mission. Primary tasks include supervising Direct Support Professionals and Lead Direct Support Professionals, and ensuring recipients receive the level of services outlined in their Plans of Care.

Essential Functions of the Position:

• Oversee the day to day functions of home and community-based services

• Supervise Direct Care Specialists, and ensure training requirements and scheduling needs are met.

• Maintains strong relationships with all employees and promotes staff development.

• Creates and maintains a positive work environment for recipients, families, partner agencies, and employees.

• Completes annual staff performance reviews.

• Provide direct care as needed

• Completes training's as required

• Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements: The Service Managers of TIDES LLC coordinate the day-to-day services of Residential Habilitation, Day Habilitation, Supported Employment, Supported Living, Respite, and Nursing Oversight services.

Required Experience:

A. Two years of supervisory experience

B. Customer Service experience

Additional Experience or Alternatives to Hands on Experience:

A. Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, rehabilitation, nursing or a closely related human services field, in addition to the required one year of experience as a supervisor; or

B. Four years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience working with human services recipients, in addition to the required one year of experience as a supervisor; or

C. Certification as a rural community health aide or practitioner and one year of full-time, or equivalent part-time experience working with human services recipients, in addition to the required one year of experience as a supervisor.

Training Requirements: Attend all trainings necessary to comply with TIDES LLC CPR and First Aid certification. Gain at minimum 18 hours per year of Continuing Education Credits.

Licensure and Documentation: CPR and First Aid certificates required within 30 days of hire. TB, fingerprint and background check clearance required. Must be at least 21 years of age. Driving is a requirement of this position and applicant must possess a current Alaska Driver’s License, and provide Agency with proof of current Auto Insurance Coverage and an acceptable State Motor Vehicle “Full History” Driver’s Report, prior to employment.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills

• Strong organization, documentation, and time management skills.

• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.

• Ability to manage crisis situations using sound judgment.

• Effective problem-solving skills.

• Proficient in Windows Office Products

Physical Requirements: May come in contact with blood borne pathogens. Ability to safely lift and transfer individuals is a requirement.

Working Conditions: Work is performed primarily in an office setting while time is also spent in the community working direct services hours.
