Overview

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the plant refrigeration system under the direct guidance of the Chief Engineer.

Responsible for repairs and maintenance of plant equipment and machinery as assigned. Ensure that all company standards in terms of policy and safety are met.

Responsibilities:

Assist with the operation of 1200HP ammonia refrigeration system including repairs and maintenance of the refrigeration equipment.

Repair and maintenance of plant processing equipment and machinery including cold storage, back dock, front dock cranes, egg rooms, four blast freezers, two holding rooms, ice maker and ice house, fish pumps, grinder pumps, boilers, bunkhouse, cookhouse, forklifts, boom truck and company vehicles.

Assure knowledge of safety and health hazards of ammonia.

Assure safe work practices as directed by the First Engineer.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Prefer training or experience with repair and maintenance of two-stage ammonia system.

General maintenance and repair background.

Welding and fabrication ability with aluminum and stainless steel preferred.

Electrical experience preferred.

You must be able to work seven days a week, overtime and various shifts during peak season.

Experience in fishing industry preferred but not a requirement.
