At NMS,we expect our employees to fulfill that mission in every aspect of their work.SummaryThe Cook position isresponsible for the preparation, production, and presentation of a variety offoods, completion of production sheets and with other associated food serviceactivities for an Assisted Living kitchen.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Performsall main line food production duties.

Preparesfood as indicated by par level sheets and in accordance with both NutritionalServices and Health Department standards.

Reviewsthe needs of the day with assigned supervisor(s), completes production sheets,verifies supply needs and availability.

Isresponsible for quantity and quality control in food production as well asoverall sanitation of assigned areas.

Assistsin training of food service personnel.

Arrangesfor food service workers to complete smaller item preparation.

Overseesfood serving lines and coffee bars, ensuring food items are properly stocked.

Observesand instructs others on the proper rotation (FIFO) procedures to be followedfor all food related items.

Followsall Food Safety Standards (HACCP).

Completesall freezer, cooler and warming temperature and sanitation logs.

Supportsan active safety program.

Mayassist other food service personnel at any given time.

Otherrelated duties may also be assigned.

Thisposition has supervisory responsibilities.

Other duties that are pertinent to thedepartment or unit’s success also may be assigned.

QualificationsMinimum Requirements

Must have High School diploma or GEDequivalent.

Must have Alaska Food Handlers Card orServSafe certification contingent upon 30 days of hire.

At least one (1) year of general foodservice experience.

This contract requires employees to have the following immunizations: TB. Successful candidates must be able to provide immunization records for this and/or be willing to take the vaccination if offered the job.

Contract requires employees to speak,understand, read and write English.

Preferred Qualifications

Certainposition(s) require a valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving recordfor the past three (3) years to be eligible under NMS' vehicle insurancepolicy.
