Working closely within Regional Partnerships, assist shareholders in gaining access to services

Works closely with shareholders in preparing and counseling them to access education.

Works closely with shareholders in preparing and counseling them to become qualified for employment anywhere that best suits their employment and career needs.

Help Shareholders develop a career path.

Be a local contact person for Regional Partnerships in coordination and organization of local activities and meetings and visitors.

Provide administrative support and encourage elder participation in the local elders’ council.

DevelopmentalWork

Work with small groups to promote personal, family and community wellbeing.

Promote, preserve and share local Inupiaq knowledge, custom and wisdom for a healthy future.

Works with local elder council’s goals and ideas.

Encourage Youth outreach in schools

Build from shareholder ideas and their resources to become skilled for employment.

Promote participatory shareholder development activities in small groups in a positive manner.

Administration

Maintain access to resources and services available to the community such as schools scholarships and services available for shareholders.

Track input to database and report on actions taken in support of shareholder development and service delivery to Director.

Updates records and/or databases.

Monitor and evaluate performance, projects and programs so they achieve their assigned goals in a timely manner.

Maintains an open and inviting office available to community, by managing individual site needs, supplies and control over routine maintenance as needed.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

QualificationsMinimumRequirements

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

At least 3 year’s relevant work experience to include administrative, recruitment and/or workforce development. Equivalent education, training, or similar experience may be substituted for relevant experience.

Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Proven ability to compile data and information in to reports and presentations.

Must be comfortable public speaking and presenting to a group.

Must have current UA collections certification or the ability to certify within 3 months of hire.

Experience working with youth and/or adults one on one or in group settings.

Experience with applicant tracking systems preferred.

Current Alaska Driver’s licenses with a clean 3 year driving record preferred.

WorkingConditions and Physical Requirements

Weather:Indoors: Primarily in an environmentally controlled; requires most or all workto be done inside. Maybe frequently exposed to arctic conditions whiletraveling.

Noiselevel: Quiet

Descriptionof environment: Standard office environment

Physicalrequirements: Employee is required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Frequentlyrequired to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, climb,stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carryweight/lift.Travel or work conditionsmay be required utilizing alternative methods.Work or travel may be required in inclement weather conditions.Travel:Employee may travel up to 25% to various locations within the U.S. and/orremote locations and may be required to use alternative modes of transportation,including but not limited to snow machines, boats, small airplanes andATVs.Travel is coordinated by NRC.Competencies
