Oversee the safety and security of the facility by providing for protection all staff, patients, visitors, property, material, equipment, supplies, and buildings, located in the hospital from harm, injury, damage, loss or trespass. Provide first level oversight for the security officers and patient observers, as well as personally performing secururity duties. Direct assigned employees, demonstrating leadership by providing work direction, motivation, training, assistance, performance evaluation and corrective action. Essential Functions: Perform leadership functions including selection, scheduling, training, performance management and discipline.; Instill passion in assigned staff for NSHC s mission, vision, and values, paying particular attention to the maintenance of a safe and productive work environment Demonstrate personal initiative and accountability while managing the program's budget; Forecast needs, allocate resources and/or take corrective action as necessary Conduct regular walk through observations of the facility and grounds, including locking, unlocking and restricting traffic at various times; Manage hostile situations and aggressive individuals appropriately without intentionally exposing self or others to unreasonable risk of physical harm Respond to the scene of all fire, safety and security events throughout the facility, providing disaster, fire and hazard surveillance; Monitor system indicators and investigate theft, disturbances and suspicious activity Using the least force necessary and only with authorization from clinical staff and in accordance with hospital protocol, assist staff with patient restraint and intervention in disruptions by patients, visitors, or staff
