ConocoPhillips operates the Kuparuk and Alpine oil fields, has an ownership interest in the Trans Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS) and owns/operates the Polar Tankers fleet.DescriptionThe Drillsite Facility Engineer serves as the primary ConocoPhillips engineering representative providing support to Operations, Maintenance, Construction, and other field support groups. This is a key technical leadership position in assuring the business unit meets overall business goals and objectives for surface facilities performance and process safety.This position is the dedicated engineering resource responsible for day-to-day support of a North Slope facility. The partnership with Operations & Maintenance personnel is core to our philosophy of managing Process Safety. In addition, the combination of facility-specific engineering and operational knowledge uniquely position the Facility Engineer to effectively lead and/or inspire changes in the business unit.Your responsibilities may include:

Support HSE goals

Provide technical mentorship to design, engineering and construction contractors

Provide design and basic engineering support for assigned facility, including building detailed design requests, performing engineering calculations, and marking up drawings

Provide technical consultation services to Operations via interfacing with Superintendent, Supervisors, Operators, and Maintenance Technicians to clarify day-to-day facility operations and engineering issues, planned maintenance, regulatory compliance, troubleshooting and incident investigations/breakdown reports

Recommend and implement modifications to systems to reduce operating expenses, improve HSE performance, or economically maximize production

Own the facility's process safety management programs including MoC, PHA, process safety information, and equipment integrity. Perform Risk Assessments as required to comply with the HSE Management System

Review redlined drawings following construction to ensure drawings are as-built accurately

Resolve PHA findings

Review challenges to independent protection layers and identify improvements, as appropriate

Provide technical review of all major projects modifications to ensure continuity of operations, process safety, and assurance of project deliverables

Ensure applicable industry and company standard and codes are adhered to and seek support of company Technical Authorities as required for clarifications

Provide leadership and strong advocacy for process and personal safety through participation in the facility and field safety processes

Participate in companywide knowledge share (KS) via NoE

Provide vacation relief for Plant Facility Engineers

Qualifications:Basic/Required:

Legally authorized to work in the United States

Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical, Mechanical or Process Engineering or foreign equivalent

3 years of oil and gas industry experience including gas/oil production, gathering, separation & processing, chemical processing, refining, or similar

Understanding of facility engineering fundamentals including a working knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM), PHA, and MoC

Experience with the use of industry codes (e.g., API, ASME & DOT pipeline), standards and recommended practices

Current valid driver's license

Willing and able to to work a rotational assignment on the North Slope of Alaska

Preferred:

5 years of oil and gas industry experience including gas/oil production, gathering, separation & processing, chemical processing, refining, pipeline operation, well testing, gas compression and re-injection, corrosion and scale inhibition, water injection, miscible injectant recovery processes, etc.

1 years of field engineering experience in a direct maintenance or operations support role

North Slope experience

Resident of Alaska, within commuting distance of the Anchorage office for training purposes

Experience participating in PHAs and using LOPA

Experience as the responsible person for completing MoC

Process engineering experience (e.g., PHA finding resolution, PSV sizing, HYSYS flow modeling)

Demonstrated ability to operate in a decisive and committed way to deliver results that are sustainable and measurable

Track record of delivering results on time and within budget

Strong interpersonal, collaboration and organizational skills

Capable of handling a large volume of diverse tasks

Manages tasks to effectively and efficiently complete work responsibilities of self and others
