RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Chandler, AZ that is seeking a Mechanical Simulation Engineer.

Summary:
The primary responsibility of the Mechanical Simulation Engineer is to perform mechanical simulation analysis service for semiconductor packaging to support product development. The applicant should have demonstrated skills in performing mechanical analysis, running finite element simulations, analyzing results, and communicating with customers.

Responsibilities:
The Mechanical Simulation Engineer will provide simulation service to customers by performing finite element mechanical simulations such as stress simulation, warpage simulation, and reliability simulation for semiconductor IC packages using Ansys simulation tool
Work with customers, business units, and R&D to support new product development and introduction, design optimization; Provide mechanical and reliability solutions for advanced packaging technologies
As a Mechanical Simulation Engineer, you will support factories to find package failure root cause and correction options using simulation tool; Correlate the simulation results to the failure mechanism
Effectively communicate with internal and external customers; Provide world class simulation services to our customers
Develop new simulation tools to improve productivity and efficiency
The Mechanical Simulation Engineer will develop new leading simulation technologies for mechanical and reliability challenges in next generation advanced IC packaging products

REQUIREMENTS:
BS degree in Mechanical Engineering; MS preferred
A minimum of 3 years of working experience in mechanical engineering
Demonstrated working experience and skill with finite element simulation tools such as Ansys
Strong understanding of stress strain mechanics, failure mechanisms, reliability, thermal expansion, and material behavior
Knowledge of semiconductor devices, packaging, assembly process and materials used
Effective and demonstrated verbal and written communication/presentation skills
Must have a customer service-oriented mindset and approach
Strong ability to work independently and drive schedules efficiently
Experience/knowledge with mechanical test, material property test, reliability test, failure analysis is a plus
Demonstrated experience/knowledge of polymer or composite material behaviors, as well as temperature dependency, non-linear viscoelastic, plastic, or creep effects is a plus
