The STAR School is currently seeking a dedicated full-time (could be part-time if desired by the employee) Special Education Teacher / Intervention Teacher to serve our Pre-K through 8th grade students.
The Special Education Teacher / Intervention Teacher will:
Work together with the existing Special Education Coordinator and Intervention Specialist to serve students with needs.
Plan and provide instruction/direct services within the school setting.
Provide specialized instructional support and leadership in progress monitoring, student observations, and consultation with general education teachers.
Applicant requirements:
Bachelor's Degree, minimum
Special Education Certificate (Preferred)
Knowledge of and previous experience working with students with high needs
Experience working in a school setting serving students with learning disabilities, mild to moderate intellectual abilities, speech, and other needs.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively to build strong relationships with students, parents, teachers and staff, school administration, etc.
Upon hire, a Completed Criminal History Affidavit (Background check) and Current DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card (obtained at the applicant's expense) will be required.
Recent college graduates with education degrees are encouraged to apply.

The STAR (Service to All Relations) School is an off-grid, solar and wind powered public charter elementary school located 25 miles east of Flagstaff, Arizona, near the Southwest corner of the Navajo Nation. Founded in 2001, the school currently serves about 130 students from preschool through grade 8 who live in a large rural area that includes Leupp, Tolani Lake, and parts of Flagstaff.
